In the current practice Genome- wide association studies (GWAS) on some of drugs has opened a new door led to the genomic identification of specific patient groups that got benefit from that particular drug. But in routine clinical practice we need to translate common sequence variants whose replication is responsible for either efficacy or safety for most prescription medications at odds ratios (ORs) >3.0 (equivalent to >300% increased efficacy or safety). Still present there is very limited data about pharmaco-genomic analysis of commonly used medications. The incorporation of pharmacogenomic analysis in the drug treatment and development is an excellent opportunity for improving efficacy of medications in use
